An Early 19th Century Mahogany Tilt-top Occasional Table

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Culvertons

This fine Late Georgian tilt-top occasional table is a lovely example and a rare survivor in such an original condition - especially when you consider its age, function and elegant design. Over the last two hundred years the mahogany used in its construction has taken on a lovely mellow tone - testament to the fact that it has not been unsympathetically restored during its life time.

The table''s ring turned central column and inverted splayed legs all point to a date of manufacture of Circa 1830. Its top has been simply decorated with rosewood banding which in-turn has been edged with boxwood.
