Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
~~ Excellent original condition throughout ~~
This is a fine example of an American Ansonia carved walnut mantel clock dated to about 1880.

It has the most beautiful gilt bezel cast with decorative floral motifs, this theme is carried through to the centre of the original white enamel dial and also between the numerals. As you would expect the dial is marked with The Ansonia Clock Company, New York.

The high quality solid brass 8 day movement is fully marked, it is totally original and has just undergone a full overhaul and service by Alan Williams of Plymouth Clocks, a Fellow of the British Horological Institute, so is in tip top condition and should give trouble free service for many years to come.

It runs for over eight days between winding.
It is keeping accurate time to within 1 minute a week, which I think you will agree is not bad for a 130 year old clock.
The clock comes with a key and its original pendulum.

This clock has obviously been highly prized and looked after, the condition is a credit to its previous owners.
Overall this is a fine and beautifully proportioned original Ansonia walnut clock, probably one of the best you will ever see.
The clock comes with a full 12 month warranty.
Dimensions of clock: Height 44cms Width at its widest part is 35cms Depth 16cms, the dial is 15cms in diameter.
Delivery for this item to mainland UK is £20 and includes full setting up instructions and information on how to look after your clock.
