Description

Exceptional George II mahogany architects table; in original condition with an excellent colour and of compact proportions; the rectangular ratchet top, with a thumbnail moulded edge and carved re-entrant corners; having a brass release button to the reverse of the table. The pop up book rest having the unusual feature of being retractible by thumb slides from the underside. Each side having a pullout swivel, dish top candle stand. The fitted drawer with an exceptional large brass handle; with a pull out inkwell to the side; raised on separating square chamfered legs. The unusual form of the square legs retaining their original brass castors on unusual iron brackets.

English circa 1750

A wonderful example in good original condition, having a lovely old surface and colour.
