Description

Unusual Carolean style beech wood and cane daybed or chaise longue c.1930. Reclining hinged backrest with a carved cresting rail over a cane panel flanked with block and twist carved stiles. Held in several different positions with tassel end cords. Over a long cane seat with carved frame raised on eight twist carved legs with bun feet, joined with twist carved stretchers to each side. Of identical design on both sides meaning it can be used in the centre of a room, or with the backrest to the left or right hand side. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Seat cushion supplied, in need of recovering.
