The Prince of Wales Later King Edward VII Riding Out in Rotten Row Hyde Park
Drawn around 1880, depicting HRH before his figure became rather rounded and he became known as Good Old Teddy.
He was an accomplished horseman, see how he rides with long stirrups and note how his horses tail was cut, fashionable at the time but rendered the horse unable to swish away flies etc.
A lovely drawing for collectors of Royal memorabilia.
Note. Rotten Row is still used for horse riding to this day.
Presented within its original glazed black frame with gold coloured line which it has never been removed from, bearing a few small marks. Label verso describing the scene, original gallery label for John B Smith, 117 Hampstead Road, London.
I am happy to obtain quotations on carriage.
Size to include frame: H46.2cm L41.2cm Image only: H30cm L22.5cm
