A 17th Century English Wainscot Chair.

Description

A 17th century English wainscot chair of robust construction and made from oak.

The chair has a fielded panel back with a shaped crest rail ,The shaped arms sit upon heavy baluster supports adjoined by peripheral rails and stretchers STAMPED S H - with the front of the chair having turned feet.

The chair is in untouched condition and is very solid with an old minor restoration to the upper back left mortise.

The chair has a fantastic dry patina and is in excellent condition.
