Smart English Silver Art Deco Cigarette / Cigar Box - 1937

A truly iconic Art Deco Double-lidded cigarette or cigar box with the most fantastic shaped handle to the top.
 
The box is entirely engine-turned and stands on four elegant feet. The lids open to reveal two compartments, the interior measuring 4 1/8'' x 3'' so perfect for cigarettes or small cigars or indeed, playing cards. A much deeper box than most.
 
The box is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1937 together with the makers mark for W.T. Toghill & Co.
 
Excellent condition, minor wear commensurate with age. The footprint measures 9 1/4'' x 5 1/4'' x 5 1/2'' tall to top of handle.
 
About as stylish as they get.
