Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
~~ Excellent condition throughout ~~
This is a superb example of an English fusee walnut wall clock dated to about 1870.

The original 12 inch white painted dial is in excellent original condition it has not been repainted and has just a hint of very fine crazing. It also has its original polished brass bezel.
The high quality solid brass 8 day fusee movement is totally original and has just undergone a full overhaul, clean and service so is in tip top condition and should give trouble free service for many years to come.

An unusual feature to note about this clock is the position of the winder at 3 oclock instead of the normal 6 oclock position.
It is keeping accurate time to within 1 minute a week, which I think you will agree is not bad for a 140 year old clock.

The clock comes with its original winding key and door key.
The only minor thing I can see that is not original is the brass pendulum rod which has been replaced at some point.
I do have detailed photographs of the movement so pleae contact us on 01726 813155 for more information.

Overall this is a fine and beautifully proportioned original English wall clock.
The clock movement comes with a full 12 month warranty.
Dimensions of clock: Height 60cms Width is 43cms Depth 16cms, the dial is 30cms in diameter.
