A charming antique fireplace basket, made from steel, iron and brass. This dates from the early twentieth century, probably 1920’s & is very much George II in style.

It is of great quality and is ornately decorated in the neo-classical style. This has just the right amount of wear you would expect, it has acquired a lovely patina and has no major damage. It is strong, structurally sound and functional, perfect for keeping you warm this winter.

I particularly like the brass filigree work across the bottom incorporating the eagle & floral patterns. There are also four generously sized brass finials & well shaped extended legs.
