Description

This incredible early-to-mid 19th century bracelet with garnet and turquoise-set heart padlock certainly draws the eye! The fat faceted belcher chain glitters beautifully as it catches the light and the padlock has fantastic typically Victorian chased flower and foliage detail.

The back of the padlock contains an intricately woven hair panel encased in glass.

The padlock could also be removed to wear as a pendant on a chain.

Unmarked but the gold has been tested.

Condition: Overall in amazing condition for its age. One chain link is very slightly squashed but you'd be hard pressed to find it without looking extremely carefully. The turquoise stone is a historic replacement. All three stones are in good condition with little abrasion and no chips. The padlock opens and closes nicely and the glass is clear with no chips or scratches.

Chain size, without padlock width: 7 inches (18cm) x 0.8cm.

Padlock size: 2 x 3.3cm (just under an inch wide).
