Description

This carpet can only be described as a cracker! A magnificent yurt carpet, made by Ersary Turkmen in the Middle Amu Darya region of Turkmenistan circa 1870. The beautiful madder-red field consists of three vertical rows of six large Ersary 'guls' tribal crests), highlighted in deep indigo-blue, glowing natural orange and turquoise. The overall condition of the carpet is excellent with only minor wear in one of the kilim skirts. Otherwise, a superb, collectable and very decorative carpet.
