Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
A coastal scene with fishermen in the foreground with small and medium sized boats behind. In the background is a coastal port with windmill, trees and other buildings. In between is a three masted schooner at anchor, with bowsprit and reefed sails.

Mounted in an ornate gilt frame. A patch has been tested (top left) with a view to cleaning where it has yellowed over the years, so would benefit from a clean. Otherwise in good condition.
Dimensions: Height: 55 cm (21.5 inches) Width: 69 cm (27 inches) Depth: 5 cm (2 inches).

More about the artist - Louis Dommersen (c.1862-?)
Louis Dommersen was English born, shortly after his famous painter father (Pieter Cornelis Dommersen also known as Dommershuijzen) moved from the Netherlands to England and married. His father was a famous Dutch artist specialising in Sea, Land and Riverscapes. Louis and his two brothers followed after their father in painting the same type of scene. Some say the work of his sons work is even better and more accomplished. But obviously they do not currently command the same values.
Dated: c.1890-1900.
