A super example of a Georgian cowrie snuff box.

Family crest for the Tharp family of Chippenham Park, Cambridgeshire.

Chippenham Park was bought in 1791 by John Tharp.

Makers mark for Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson, this mark was entered in London in 1783.

Excellent condition, lovely shell, clear marks, gilding to inside. Opens & closes well.
