Digby Antiques (Wiltshire) has dated this piece to the 1920s.
Walter Beresford was the first President of the BPA. This was set up to combat the Birmingham gangs, made famous by the BBC series “Peaky Blinders”.
This badge is fully marked for Chester 1929.
On further investigation it would appear to have been for Walter Beresfords bookmakers.
