Description

A fine and large 18th century Welsh oak two stage press cupboard or housekeeper’s cupboard having three blind panels doors to the top, each revealing shelved interiors. The base has an arrangement of five drawers in a ‘T’ shaped configuration and a cupboard to either side. Raised on bracket feet. Comes apart into two pieces for transport and ease of movement. Good colour and patina throughout.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. General surface wear in places but overall, particularly good for the age. Structurally solid and sound with smooth running drawers. Some honest historic repairs and minor losses in places including some losses to one of the back feet. Some minor evidence of old historic wood worm to the back boards – this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Particularly pleasing colour and patina throughout.
