~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
A stunning antique French portico clock featuring Amor and Venus. Amor presents Venus with roses but she turns away with a deaf ear. It is beautifully made in a white, blue and pink variegated specimen marble mounted with gilt metal. The figures are finely modelled in bronze patinated metal. The sunburst pendulum swings gently between the four columns of the portico.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper, painted with delicate floral swags between the numbers.
The French movement is of high quality and is by Samuel Marti. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Sunburst pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video below to hear the bell and watch the clock running.
Condition of the case is very good. The marble has an excellent polish and just some small nibbles to the edges. The gilt metal has wear but it bright and clean.
The glass has been replaced at some time.
