Unusual 18th Century Verge Drop Dial Wall Clock

Description

An unusual late 18th century Verge WALL CLOCK by Edw'd Wicksteed Aldermanbury of London.

The eight-day movement strikes hours on a bell, with fixed bob pendulum and engraved backplate, the engraved and silvered dial with mock pendulum and engraved signature is enclosed behind it's original brass and domed glass door with brass flowers at the quarters.

The clock is contained in a fine quality “flame mahogany” long drop-dial case and mounted on a Bracket.

Dimensions:

Height: 41 inches (with bracket) (104cm); 32 inches (without Bracket) (81.5cm). Width: 10 inches (widest) (25.5cm). Dial diameter: 9 inches (23cm)
