Description
A beautiful locket from the turn of the last Century, c1900. The locket is made from 9ct gold to the back and the front with gold coloured metal interiors. This was a common method of construction for lockets such as these. This is a pretty example with remnants of the words '9ct gold' on the back. To the front is a lovely floral design that has been studded with red garnet paste stones. The heart has a scrolled top adding a little decorative detail. Inside there are two frames that can be removed to allow a photo to be placed behind each. The locket will come on a 14kt gold fill chain as pictured. Details: Materials - 9ct Gold Back and Front, Garnet Paste Age - C1900 Size - The locket measures approx 20mm wide and is around 24.5mm tall. This measurement includes the scrolled detailing, but not the bail. Condition - Very good. A little wear commensurate with age Weight - 4.98g locket only.
