Description

A beautiful and fairly large heart locket from the late Victorian period, c1890s. The locket is made from solid 9ct gold and has a beautiful floral design engraved into the gold to the front and the back. The front design has the flowers throughout and is a very pretty, classically Victorian scrolled look. The back has a shield design towards the bottom of the heart and this has the letters 'AF' in old script engraved there. The locket opens and holds one heart shaped frame inside. This feels a little loose in its setting, though it becomes a slightly tighter fit once the frame has some pictures behind it. There is a piece of acetate in place to protect any picture placed behind.
The locket hangs on a period solid 9ct gold chain that measures approx 18" long.
