A large pair of oil on canvas board paintings of pastoral scenes, still housed in their original oil and water gilt oval frames with red bole showing through the rubbed water gilding. Super original condition, a minor retouch to one painting upper left, please see images. Lovely impasto paintwork adds texture to the composition of the animals. Both paintings signed opposing sides and dated 1859. Probably French.
