Large Victorian James Dixon & Sons Wine Bottle Coaster

Description

This fine antique wine bottle coaster which dates from c1840 is made of silver plate with a hallmarked sterling silver plaque to the centre and is made by renowned silversmith James Dixon & Sons.

This early Victorian bottle holder is of excellent quality and is a nice usable antique piece that would look beautiful on your dining table.

Material: Silver Plate. Wood. Silver.

Marks: Marked to side of the coaster with maker's mark for James Dixon and Co. 333.

Hallmarks: Hallmarked to the centre with the maker's mark for James Dixon and Co. Lion for sterling silver. Queen Victoria's head. Crown for Sheffield.

Dimensions:

5.5 cm (2 1/4") High.

19 cm (7 1/2") outer diameter.

12 cm (4 3/4") inner diameter.

Weight: 380 g.

Condition: Excellent used antique condition with light signs of use in keeping with age. Some light surface scratches and small marks. No damage, breaks or splits.
