Description

A Staffordshire pottery figure group, c. 1860. The figures dressed in 17th Century costume, with the man holding a plumed hat, whilst the lady carries a Spaniel. Set upon an oval grassy mound base. Decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, and overglaze enamels.

Is this figure a representation of Charles II and Nell Gwynn ?

Height - 34 cm, 13 3/8”.

Width - 20 cm, 7 7/8”.

Depth - 10.2 cm, 4”.

Condition - Break to girls neck. Typical minor wear to the enamels.
