Description

An America Federal period flame Mahogany Sideboard dating from c 1820, probably Southern States with design influences from the French 1st Empire period. The rectangular Mahogany top above a flat frieze drawer flanked by concave drawers with original Lions head handles above two bowed deep wine cooler drawers flanked by two panelled flame Mahogany cupboard doors containing single shelves and which are flanked by turned Flame Mahogany columns. The whole rests on heavy carved Mahogany Lions paw feet. Beautiful veneer, excellent colour. The doors have locks and keys. There are various repairs to the veneer ( see photos) and minor chips, scratches stains etc consistent with age and use. There was originally a brass gallery mounted on the top which is missing.
Dimensions: 154 cm wide, 59 cm deep, 110 cm high.
