Antique English Sterling Silver Photograph Frame - Shamrocks - 1901

Description

A most unusual and highly decorative photo frame, a perfect gift for the Irish friend or family member in your life.

The chocolate brown backing is made made from velvet and the sterling silver front beautifully pierced or reticulated with an all round continual Shamrock mount and a beaded line framing the opening. The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1901, making this a very early Edwardian example together with the makers mark, M. Bros. for the Martin Brothers.

Superb condition measuring 5 1/8" in diameter with a glazed aperture measuring 3 5/8".
