Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The side corners are finely inlaid from top to bottom. The drawers have original brass handles, locks & fine dovetails. One or two of the drawers have splits where the wood was joined along the drawer bottoms, but they are still structurally sound & strong, so don’t really need fixing. All the drawers glide well.
This chest is very fine quality & a rich wood grain. It’s also free from any warps or splits.
