A fine quality French repeater carriage clock by the noted maker Bolvillier of Paris with original tooled leather travel case. The white enamel dial retaining the original fine 'moon' blued steel pointers with unusual centre sweep seconds hand and signed beneath. The well cast rococo style case having 4 canted corners with silver plated female figures in classical costume. The top having a visible escapement with repeater button and carrying handle in the form of 2 entwined mermaids. The 8-day duration movement stamped Japy Freres and numbered 160 with striking bell and winding shutters to the rear door.
