Pair of Antique French Gilt Wood Mirrors

Description

Stunning pair of antique French or Italian gilt wood mirrors in very good original condition & with magnificent carved details all over.

Please enlarge all the images to see the quality of the carvings, the original finish of the gilding & the backs.

There are many detailed floral carvings & some cherub type figures on the bases. The gilding is naturally aged & all original. One of the inset mirrors is very aged & the other one, not so much.

I’m not sure of the exact age, but I would say they date from before the 1840’s & could even be from the 1700’s period.

It’s very rare to find a pair of gilt wood mirrors of this age with such fine details & in excellent condition.
