Antique French Bureau Plat Desk

19th century
Description

This antique French Bureau Plat has a lovely shape all around & has many exotic woods within the floral marquetry, especially on the top.

It’s in excellent condition & dates from around the 1890-1900 period.

Besides the various woods in the marquetry & inlays, the predominate woods are rosewood & kingwood. There’s a long drawer on the front & the back is finished & polished too. There is a gilt metal trim around the top edge, plus finely cast gilt bronze mounts on the tops of the legs & on the feet.
