A handsome Regency mahogany sideboard/serving table in the neoclassical taste by ''Wilkinson - London'', having an excellent colour and patina; flanked by figured bow fronted ends. Raised on stylish pedestals with exceptional figured mahogany bow fronted doors with ebony stringing and finely reeded pilasters.
The base of the pedestals having reeded moulding and raised on unusual protruding lion paw feet with classical scrolls and scroll shaped bracket feet to the rear.
The interior of the pedestals have adjustable shelves and lead lined partitioned cellarette drawer, retaining its good brass handle.
The right hand drawer stamped ''WILKINSON LUDGATE HILL 12951''
William Wilkinson, renowned cabinet maker, known for his fashionable Regency designs, operated from 1807 at Ludgate Hill, stamping furniture ''Wilkinson Ludgate Hill (often followed by a number).
Later, from circa 1825 he traded with his two sons, stamping furniture ''Wilkinson & Sons'' English circa 1820.
