Chinese Cantonese Teapot, C. 1870, Qing Dynasty.

Description

Chinese porcelain teapot and cover, c. 1880, Qing Dynasty. The large, pear shaped teapot, hand painted in Cantonese style, with a continuous scene of birds and insects amongst flowering plants, beneath a band of similar decoration, upon a gilt ground.

The cover similarly decorated, and having a gilt button finial.

Height: 14.5 cm, 5 3/4”.

Width: 18 cm, 7 1/8”.

Depth: 12 cm, 4 3/4”.

Condition: Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
