Description

A French brass eight day carriage clock, early 20th century, retailed by Marcks & Co. Ltd of Bombay & Poona, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and signed 'MARCKS & CO LTD, BOMBAY POONA' 'MADE IN FRANCE'.

Marcks & Co. of Bombay & Poona retailed quality Swiss watches and French clocks to Maharajas and also Europeans stationed in India in the late 19th and early to mid 20th century. They are still in business today selling quality watches such as Rolex and Hublot.

in excellent condition overall with bevel glass and original key. The clock keeps perfect time and is in full working order.
