1920s Thomas Russell pocket watch.

The watch has a 10 jewel Swiss stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is signed with the Thomas Russell name and it is all protected by an inner hinged cover.

Thomas Russell & Son was a well respected business having achieved a Royal Warrant as watch and clock makers to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

In 1881 the company started importing movements from Switzerland, such as the one we have in this particular watch.

The watch measures 50.3mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 10ct gold filled and is the Moon model made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case has a couple of light indentations to the edge of the back caused by the loop rubbing time but overall it is in nice condition.

The glass lens has light marking from use although very acceptable.

The signed dial has its original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. There is a faint hairline crack between 4 and 5 o'clock although hardly noticeable.

The watch will come in a new presentation box.
