As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Meiji period 1868-1912 silvered bronze Hawk on stand, the well recorded artist Yoshitani has captured the moment a Goss Hawk lands upon a naturalistic twisted root wood base, the silvered bronze hawk captured in fine detail with a menacing appearance as if scouting for prey, the extremities of the bird highlighted in gilt and shakudo, the artist Yoshitani has signed the bird in an oval seal beneath the tail feathers, a great addition to your Japanese metalwork or okimono collection or perhaps just as a decorative object for your oriental themed room, just as intended when manufactured over 120 years ago .

The artist Yoshitani is a well recorded Meiji period metalworker specializing in bird okimono with numerous sales recorded at major auction rooms .
