This sweet porcelain scent bottle, shaped as a bird's egg, is hallmarked for Birmingham 1876 and bears the marks of Charles May, prolific scent bottle maker. The glazed "peachy" pink porcelain body with silver flecks.
Egg scent bottles are hard to come by and are therefore very desirable and collectable.
Silver screw-top and collar.
Inner silver top fitted with original cork.
Birmingham Assay Mark
CM for Charles May.
Date letter "b" for 1876.
Lion Passant.
Porcelain body in excellent condition.
Silver lid with a couple of dings.
Original inner cork
Silver neck in very good condition.
