Description

A fabulous antique English Rosewood box with a plethora of inlays including two bands of Mother or Pearl and Abalone shell made up from diamond shaped pieces creating a stunning mosaic banding, bordered by Tulipwood inlay.

There is a large inlay to the centre of the lid again in a diamond shape with some delightful marquetry work, this is mirrored on a smaller scale to the front forming the escutcheon.

The interior has been beautifully re-lined with a hand coloured marble paper. The box would make a lovely jewellery box or a equally stunning desk-top.

Excellent condition, measuring 9 3/4" x 7 3/4" x 4 1/4" tall.
