Description

Unusual pair of late 19th.c. Renaissance revival benches c.1890. Reputedly removed from a bank interior. Curving backs with decorative panels embossed with a dense pattern of interwoven floral elements. Shaped ends flowing into low arms also embossed with gilloche detail on the front and with carved acanthus leaf roundels on the sides. Over deep board seats raised on bracket supports, carved and moulded to match the arms and terminating in large carved claw feet. Further decorative panels below the seats. Very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
