For sale is a good quality Victorian mahogany partners desk. Having a green leather skiver decorated with gold tooling, fitting onto two pedestals, the right with four graduated drawers, and the left having two graduated drawers above a large file drawer at the base, each with brass handles. On the opposing side the desk has two cupboards. The desk is complete with all of its original Hobbs & Co brass locks. Alfred Charles Hobbs was an American lock maker born in 1812 in Boston, Massachusetts. He went to London representing a New York company called Day & Newell. Notably he was the first to pick a Bramah lock at the great exhibition of 1851.
