Antique Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Side Chair

1900 - 1920
Description

This antique Edwardian mahogany side chair has some wonderful features & exquisite decoration.

It’s in very good original condition, having just been French polished & re-upholstered in our regular cream natural cotton fabric. The seat area surrounding the upholstery is ebonised. The rest of the chair is mahogany with lots of fine satinwood inlays & bandings. The design of the fretwork on the back is wonderful & the upturned arms are nice too.

This chair is sturdy & strong, helped by the strong turned legs that are joined by the cross stretchers. It has a wonderful shape & I would date it to around the 1890-1900 period.
