Antique Baluch Tribal Rug, Sistan Region, South-east Persia.

Description

This small Baluch rug was made in the Sistan region of south-east Persia around 1880.

The natural camel-hair field blends beautifully with the 'kochak' symbols scattered in diagonal rows and disappearing under the borders and into infinity. Equally attractive is the typical Sistani Baluch main border with its wonderful array of natural colours.

In very good condition, this is a truly stunning little rug.

Size: 1.30m x 0.79m (4' 3" x 2' 7").
