Large Carved Oak Settle C.1880.

19th century
Description

Large late 19th.c. oak chair back settle c.1880. Elaborate three panel backrest extensively carved with vine and grape detail between turned and reeded columns with turned finial tops. Padded arms with lovely scrolling acanthus leaf terminals. Over a deep sprung seat raised on eight turned and reeded legs joined with turned and block stretchers. Serviceable vintage faux leather upholstery. Very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
