In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The easel back is covered in blue velvet and the mirror has a good quality bevelled glass plate.
It is clearly hallmarked for William Comyns, London, 1899. It is also marked "Bechtler Allahabad", top quality retailers of the time.
It is in excellent condition for its age and looks nearly new. There are no damages and the easel back is in good solid order. There is no rubbing or wear and the repousse is crisp and clear. The silver has been gently cleaned and polished and the mirror is ready for use.
