Edwardian Hammered Finish Silver Stamp Case Chester 1905

A most unusual solid silver envelope form stamp case with a wonderful very precise hammered finish. The case is hinged at the top and opens and closes perfectly well. The fastening catch is unusual and when pressed closed the lip clicks underneath to keep the lid in place.
 
 
 
Hallmarks are clearly visible just under the opening lid for the Chester Assay Office with a date mark for 1905 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. Also visible is the maker''s mark: Albert Ernest Jenkins. There is a loop on one side for attachment.
 
 
 
A striking Stamp Case, in a very rare pattern, in lovely antique collector''s condition.
