Fine Large Staffordshire Irish Setter C1860

Description

This FINE LARGE and RARE VICTORIAN STAFFORDSHIRE FIGURE OF AN IRISH SETTER dates from circa 1860.

It is finely modelled with good definition to the coat.

The DOG stands a stately 11.5 inches (29 cm) high.

It is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. There is a touched-out paint flake to one eye.

A wonderful example of the Staffordshire Potters' work. A similar Figure is illustrated in A & N Harding's Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-75 Vol 2 Page 217.
