Antique Elm Smokers Bow Armchair

Description

An attractive and good quality 'Smoker's Bow' or 'Captain's' armchair dating from the late 19th Century. It has a comfortable wide and deep elm seat with broad arms, turned spindles and turned legs joined by a double stretcher.

It is approximately 30" (76cm) high and it is 25" (64cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 20" (51cm) deep and 17" (43cm) high.

It is in good condition for its age. It has developed a nice aged patina and is a strong and sturdy chair. The chair is not without a few small marks and signs of age and use but no major damage and nothing detrimental. The grain is wonderful and it displays very nicely.
