A very collectable small bronze Mortar from the mid 17thc...it is decorated with four applied (in the casting) female caryatid figures and four rose flower heads...it is of a useful size and has gained a great colour over many years of careful use....I particularly like seeing the sand casting marks which are quite visible on the sides...
French. C1640-60.
