Description
A fine, large and impressive art deco study of a female nude. This highly stylised monochrome work speaks volumes off the jazz age and all things decadent and art deco. In the medium of charcoal and crayon the artist has depicted a seated female nude with bobbed hair and sinuous limbs. This fine and rare work has been reframed within a contrasting mount which in turn is housed in a sharp and chic silver coloured frame. This piece is ready to hang and has been glazed with art glass to minimise reflection and aid conservation. George Frederick Hinchcliff (1894-1962) Australian born Hinchcliff moved to England to study art, first in Yorkshire and then at the Royal College of art in London. He graduated in 1923 and exhibited at the Royal Academy and in later life he was the Head of Painting and Decoration at Leicester College of Art (see final image) High resolution images upon request Worldwide shipping available Sheet: 13.5” x 26.5” / 34 x 67cm.
