The, really well made, 19th century box, of rectangular shape, mounted with inlaid scrolled corners, and strap work edges, the slightly domed lid lifting with a flush handle, the front with an escutcheon plate, fronting the original lock and key. The interior with the original card lining.
Date circa 1850.
