Description

A Victorian mahogany pedestal desk dating to c1860. Not too small or large, this well proportioned pedestal desk is made of solid mahogany with oak lined drawers, is mounted on ogee feet and retains its original leather surface embellished with a double Greek key border. The leather surface has a lustrous cross banded mahogany veneer border. The drawers have the original locks and attractive swan neck handles (drawers may have had knobs originally). The original leather is intact - the left half has some dents/scuffs and the right half is smooth. The desk has a good kneehole space, pleasing proportions and a good rich colour.
