A superb mid-19th century French bronze model canon.

This finely detailed model canon is cast in solid bronze. The long tapered barrel is decorated with raised stepped rings and shallow knurled cut bands. It is mounted onto the sturdy hinged and adjustable bed which also has four removable tools which would be used for loading and cleaning the barrel. The bed of the canon has a substantial cross-frame axil which has two large and well detailed spoked wheels for transportation. This marvellous miniature bronze canon is mounted with two bolts onto a well figured cut and polished russet and cream oval marble base which displays this desirable piece to its full advantage.
