This is a fine example of the rare 'cockerel' James Dixon cocktail shaker.
A reputation for designing and making quality barware, the cockerel motif shaker is at the pinnacle of their craftmanship.
The condition of this shaker is fantastic. The etched cockerel design remains deep and the glass is clean with just an extremely minor graze to the bottom right of the bird. Some minor rubbing can be seen to the silver plate rim (see photo) but not present when the lid is in situ.
Overall, a wonderful collector's piece from the height of the period
